The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has imposed a penalty of Rs. 126.87 crore on HP India and approximately Rs. 1.22 crore on five of its resellers for engaging in anti-competitive practices in the sale and supply of personal system products. The CCI found that HP India manipulated bidding in Government e-Marketplace (GeM) tenders by dictating bid prices and controlling reseller participation, resulting in cartelisation in violation of the Competition Act, 2002. The Commission directed the parties to cease such anti-competitive conduct and also imposed penalties on the officials involved.
