The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has launched the Nifty500 Ahimsa Index, a new thematic index for investors who want to invest in companies that follow ethical and non-violent business practices. Developed in collaboration with the Ahimsagain Foundation, the index excludes companies involved in activities that cause harm to animals and instead includes businesses that meet specific ethical screening criteria. The index is expected to serve as a benchmark for ETFs, index funds, and other passive investment products, giving investors an opportunity to align their investments with their personal values while promoting responsible and sustainable investing in India's capital markets.
