NITI Aayog launched the “DPI@2047 for Viksit Bharat” roadmap on 27 April 2026 to guide India’s next phase of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)-led growth, focusing on inclusive, productivity-driven, and technology-enabled economic transformation. Developed in partnership with EkStep Foundation and Deloitte, the roadmap outlines a two-phase strategy: DPI 2.0 (2025–2035), aimed at livelihood-led growth across sectors such as MSMEs, agriculture, education, and healthcare, and DPI 3.0 (2035–2047), focused on broad-based prosperity.
The framework emphasises scaling AI adoption, digital entrepreneurship, trusted data flows, interoperability, district-led implementation, and cross-sector digital integration to enhance productivity, resilience, and economic inclusion. Senior policymakers highlighted that India’s future growth will depend not only on technological innovation but also on its ability to diffuse digital infrastructure and AI at population scale while maintaining safeguards, governance standards, and public trust.
