Union Budget 2026-27: Government to develop 'corporate mitras' cadre to help MSMEs.
In the Union Budget 2026–27, the Government announced the creation of a cadre of “Corporate Mitras” to support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with compliance and reporting requirements at affordable cost.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that professional institutions such as the ICAI, ICSI and ICMAI will be facilitated to design short-term modular courses and practical tools to train these para-professionals, especially in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, improving access to corporate compliance services and reducing the regulatory burden on small enterprises. The initiative complements broader MSME-focused measures in the Budget aimed at formalisation, access to finance and ease of doing business.
